During woodturning, high rotational speeds and concentrated cutting forces act on the material. Weak points in the wood—such as figured grain or knots—are usually the first areas to chip or break. Because stabilized wood is fully impregnated with acrylic resin down to the cellular structure, these weaknesses are virtually eliminated. The material can be turned evenly and with minimal tear-out, even to extremely thin wall thicknesses.
